Chairman, Gerard Hiscock, reflects back on Flood Expo 2017
They say it is always difficult to stand out from the crowd at a huge exhibition. Well, we certainly did! Not by spending tens of thousands on our stand or paying for jugglers and fire eaters to entertain people. We did it in the most captivating way of all. Quite simply, we were the only manufacturer promoting uPVC and composite storm protection doors for the domestic market.
The result was that we spent two action-packed days exhibiting at the world’s largest flood exhibition and conference, speaking with a mix of industry experts and potential customers, who wanted to know more about our company and our unique products.
The exhibition was a very proud moment for us having worked tirelessly over the last three years to gain a BSI kitemark for both products and we were the only company at the exhibition to have the accreditation.
The two days lived up to our expectations and we have a number of new lines of enquiry to follow up on. Such was the interest, we have booked space for next year.
With so much activity on our stand we did not get the chance to listen to the keynote speakers but the exhibition itself was an exhilarating experience and it was interesting to speak to a diverse range of people.
The Expo enabled us to really raise our profile and boost awareness of our products. Over the coming months we will be steadily working to achieve the next level for the doors by gaining the Secure by Design certification which will see the products go through stringent testing to ensure they remain the highest accredited storm protection doors on the market.
